Preps for a Trunk Show, and a Workshop. Also, a New Quilt Project from Elaine Adair Pieces

Here are approximately 20 quilts of various styles that I'm hauling, in prep for a Trunk Show still in the planning stage. The biggest decision is how many will fit in my small car !  8-)))   Just give me a chance to talk, and then, watch out!   The next day I'll be teaching a Workshop - again, more "stuff" added into my small car.  Wish I had a larger vehicle!

Here is my stack of Workshop materials and samples.  Hope I remembered everything.

New subjec -- new quilt project that is beginning to take shape.  This is for an adult grandson ...

From clutter to treasure! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

Thanks again for the comments -- I MUST answer them individually! There is NO customer quilt today. By the time I got home, I decided I had some wiggle room in my calendar and could push off one of the quilts on the list. Actually, only TWO more need to be done before I leave on Monday, and I have three days.

I was going to start the quilt in the morning but decided that paperwork was more important. And for some reason, I was digging through the crap on the second desk in my office, and guess what? I found ...

It's a beautiful day! from Crazy Quilter on a Bike!

OK -- so I've already done several things this morning that I haven't done in a long time. First, I had a relatively late night and NO nap during the day, so I slept in. That was until I heard naughty Lexi, who spent the night outside, barking! That dog never barks! It must have been something very important.

After scolding her, I left her outside. Only to hear her barking again but in a different corner of the yard. I captured her and brought her in. She is NOT happy. Murphy went ballistic in the house, so if ...

Upcoming Scrap Workshops from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

One of the things I have missed the most with the pandemic is in-person teaching.  I love interacting with other quilters and inspiring them to be creative with their scraps. I am pleased to say I am starting to see some in-person workshop bookings so I thought I would let you know of a few in November.

.I will be teaching my Two Bits Scrap Mixology block on Saturday November 6th to the Willamette Valley Quilters in Dayton Oregon.  You can contact them through their website to sign up if you are interested.  It is going to be a super ...

The year 2020 in review! from Quilting with Claire

One thing is certain, the year that just ended will have been full of twists and turns for most people. We’ve all had to face unimaginable challenges. It has also been a somewhat forced way to reinvent ourselves, to rethink our priorities and to find pleasure in the little things in life. For me, the … Continue reading "The year 2020 in review!"

Quilt Challenge Day 9 from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

For day nine, I'm showing this quilt that I made for a granddaughter. Marley chose the colors and asked for "something zigzag." I think she must have seen another chevron quilt. I needed to play a little, so the compromise became two sizes of chevrons in three colors. They lost their home to mold several years ago and all of their quilts were lost, so this one is in a landfill somewhere. But that does not take away from the fact that it once existed as a silly quilt for a little girl who loved zigzags just because she ...

Quilt Challenge Day 5 from Fleur de Lis Quilts and Accessories

I haven't forgotten about this challenge. Let me explain the whole "Mary" story. A real-life friend, who is also a Facebook friend, challenged me to show 10 quilts, probably in 10 days. I posted four days of quilts....four quilts. No one person liked, commented or otherwise acknowledged even one of my posts. Now it makes sense but at the time I thought I was just, well I'm not sure what I thought, but it was a little unsettling. No one? Not one like? Not a "uhmph"? So I quit posting.

One of my three entries for QuiltCon.

At Monday's guild meeting, someone mentioned ...

Fun in Southern Oregon from Quilting Is More Fun Than Housework

I recently spent a few days with the Umpqua Valley Quilters Guild in Roseburg Oregon.
They are such a great group!

(In fact, you should mark your calendars - they have a wonderful Quilt Show coming up in April 2020.  You can check out their Facebook page here to learn more.)

I am very bad about getting out my phone and taking photos but I did snap a photo of everyone with one of their finished blocks in the Spin! class.  This group had a wonderful selection of colors and fabrics.  I look forward to seeing some finished quilt tops soon ...
